Default Why was my thread deleted?

I posted a thread called "Leaving the game." It was about how the recent economic fix affected some of us. It wasn't a rant - and many of your responses were very helpful.

For some reason it was deleted after about 10 minutes.

Could someone please enlighten me? I tried PMing a moderator.

If this one gets deleted too, I'll just have to take that as a silent snub.

many threads get deleted if the mods don't think its going any where. or if its turning into flame bait etc.

It wasn't - that's my point. A moderator was even one of the folks who responded nicely to it.

Well, no offense to the mods, but I seem to find even slightly off topics deleted or closed while flames and namecalling goes untended (even used by some admins!).

So basically it's all the discretion of whoever's in charge.

Their game, their ball, their court and their rules. Well, nobody owes me an explanation - but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Threads are deleted for a reason and creating a thread only compounds the issue. If you have a problem then just PM the moderator of the forum your thread was posted in.

You must be new to this.

I find about 80 percent of the mods on ANY forum are usually abusive.

Just saying.

I'm not new to this.
My initial thread was a commentary but also served a message to folks I met in the game - people whom I contact through this forum.

BTW - I already did PM the Moderator - My post wasn't so verbose that someone of average intelligence couldn't see I mentioned that fact.

Xue Yiu Liang's PM was answered and he is in touch with the appropriate mod.

And I find the thing about "abusive" mods....interesting but that's for another time.

If you want to discuss why a thread was closed/deleted, then discuss it in PMs. Yes, I do realize you already said you PMed a mod. Be patient and hopefully you'll get a response. No, I don't know why it was deleted. Most likely it was off-topic, going nowhere and/or just hosting spam.

And for the people that complain mods aren't doing enough, try helping out for once. You can report bad posts and threads. Unless you really don't care that much about the forums of course, which gives you no reason to whine.

Closed.
